SO SORE!!! - breakfast

Oh my goodness! I am still sooooo sore from Monday morning! The lunges killed my legs! Normally I go to the gym Mondays for spinning, Tuesdays for Piyo then Wednesdays for yoga. I haven't been to the gym since bright and early Monday morning. I could barely walk up until now!!! Today I'm doing much better. It's a "feel good" sense of sore now. I must be super out of shape since the warm up had me tired!!! I love the Female Body Breakthrough workouts so far, just can't believe how sore I have been (I have only done 1 workout). I went to Walmart and bought a foam roller that I'm going to use this evening to help my muscles, as well as take an epsom salt bath. My goal is to get up early again tomorrow and do workout B, but I know that listening to my body is the most important thing. My parents have a work out room at their house, so worst case scenario I will work out Saturday morning before work since I don't have to be at the shop until noon.

Jessi's baby shower is Sunday at 2 I'm excited to see her. She's due in June with her third baby, a girl this time!!! I can't wait!!! I'll be sure to take some pics and post them on here.

For breakfast I had grapes and mango (thanks for the Mango Wicked) :)

I'm excited for the rainy/snowy weather!!!

Dessert for Nate

I haven't made a dessert for Nate in a while, so I decided to make red velvet cake with chocolate frosting. I had a piece too. It's nice to be able to put a nice dessert in his lunch.

I'm going to go make a special treat for Nate, then clean in between reading some mags. Have a good night all! Try to tune into the show tomorrow night - nubreaks.com 8-10 MST Come and chat with me in the chat room! Live video of Nate spinning!!! :) Can't get much better than that.

YAY! Wicked invited me over for lunch! :) She makes the best meals! Today we had chili. It was goooooood.

Positive Affirmations from Wicked

All my muscles are becoming more and more relaxed.

All negativity is evaporating from my body and my mind.

All the muscles in my body are releasing and relaxing.

All the muscles in my body relax and let go.

As I relax my body immediately feels better.

Being calm and centered is one of the top priorities in my life, and I practice this feeling every day.

Calmness washes over me with every deep breath I take.

Every breath I take fills me with harmony and peace.

Every day I allow myself a few moments just to be.

Every day I am more and more at ease.

Every day I set aside a little time to do absolutely nothing.

Every fiber of my being is relaxed.

Every moment of every day I am becoming calmer and calmer.

Every moment of every day I am becoming more and more centered.

Every moment of every day I am becoming more and more relaxed.

I accept all things with a peaceful spirit.

I allow all negative emotions to quickly and quietly evaporate.

I allow myself to feel complete peace right now.

I allow peace and joy to exist in all areas of my life.

I am able to relax deeply whenever I wish.

I am at peace with all people in my life.

Prom

Anthony and I went to dinner at a Chinese Buffet that we both love. This will be my last time eating out for a while since I'm starting the FBB on Monday. Our parents gave him Dads old truck for graduation! :) Yvonne and her friends stopped by the shop on the way to prom. Anthony met his buddies at prom. I can't believe it's been 11 years since my prom! Seems like just a couple years ago...

4/24

Snack instead of dinner 4/23

I was still full from earlier, so all I wanted later on was peanuts. It's amazing how full I am when I eat good foods. I don't even want to snack!

Happy Friday!

Woo Hoo happy Friday everyone!!! I sure do love days like this. I woke up to snow!!! I wish I could stay in bed on snow days, then get up, make a good breakfast then be lazy and watch movies while cuddling on the couch. Yep, that's my perfect snow day!

Today has been a good week. It's flown by. I can't believe next week is the last week of April.

I'm glad that I make the conscious choice to be happy. In certain circumstances, I could be sad, mad, frustrated...but what will that solve? I always say to myself...is this really a big deal? Will this matter a year from now? No...then put a smile on your face and get on with the day! Don't sweat the small stuff. It can be so easy to get wrapped in negativity when it's around you. Me, I prefer to have all the negativity bounce off of me, only to absorb the positive energy. I love spending time with people that radiate positive energy. That is a goal of mine - to be as positive as possible in any given situation. Tomorrow is always another day, and I always try to see the silver lining behind the clouds!!!

So...what is your choice? What mood are you going to be in today?

Breakfast

Green tea, chopped walnuts, a small banana and Organic Stonyfield Strawberry low fat yogurt

Dessert

Nate's Mom makes these cake on a stick concoctions. She gave us about 50 of them. I had 3 for a dessert last night. Usually I don't like desserts but they looked good at the moment. I also had some grape juice.

Welcome to my blog

Hello world! Welcome to my blog! A good friend of mine suggested I start a blog and I thought it was a great idea. TG for friends that inspire me to be a better person. I am thankful every day!

Next week I will begin the (FBB) Female Body Breakthrough. I'm excited and anxious at the same time.

I will be posting my workouts as well as pics of food that I make. I am going to make a conscious choice as to what I'm inputting into my body. I haven't had a drink in a month and a half. I would drink a beer or two once a week, or have a mixed drink here and there, but lately beer/liquor just hasn't been sitting well with me. It takes me longer to recover the next day. I dislike feeling like crap and not having energy or being unhappy and uncomfortable. It's just not worth it to me. I'm not saying I'll never have a drink again...but now's not the time. I'm not diggin' it!

I've been doing a pretty good job of staying out of boxes and bags. I go to the Sunflower Market every Monday after my spinning class at the Y. Stock up on whole foods, lots of veggies and fruit. Cooking is my hobby. I'm excited to cook new healthy recipes. I want to expand my pallet. Grow as a cook and as a person. I want to put better food into Nate's body too. I can totally tell a difference in how I feel when I eat something that's healthy, or when I make the choice to eat the brownie or french fries. Live and learn!!!

I'm currently reading The Diet Cure. Great book! I'm only in about 35 pages. I need to make the choice to set away more time for reading.

Well, that's all for now.

Listening to our Bodies - The Daily Ohm

Listening to Our Bodies

Illness Lessons

When our body, mind, and spirit are in balance, we experience good health. But sometimes we get caught up in life’s parade of change and movement, and things get out of balance. Just as there are seasons in nature, our bodies go through times of cleansing and times of activity. Illness is one way our bodies restore the balance they seek, as it cleanses the buildup of unwanted manifestations of negative energy in our system. When we are not feeling our best, we can go beyond addressing the physical symptoms to listen to our bodies as they tell us the changes needed to restore balance.

Our bodies give us signals, but if we don’t listen when they tell us that they are tired or stressed, then the imbalance increases and a stronger message is required, one that is generally expressed by illness or dis-ease. The first step to regaining equilibrium involves slowing down, eating healthy food, getting more rest, and taking soothing remedies. Once we have nurtured ourselves with these things, we can begin examine our illness for the message. A heavy head may be a sign that we have been thinking negatively, harboring anger, resentment, or guilt. A sore throat may be telling us we have been speaking without integrity—gossip, insults, twisting the truth, or even speaking ill of ourselves, all of which can knock us off balance. A sore throat and swollen glands can also mean you are cleansing and processing some powerful emotions at present. Stomach problems could mean that we are having trouble accepting or “digesting” something. Only you have the knowledge of your th! oughts and choices that will allow you to decipher the messages from your body. All it takes is time and attention.

When we take the time to listen to our bodies we can learn how to restore our balance and improve our lives. By honoring the messages of our bodies, we can turn a time of illness into a constructive time of restoration, healing, and revitalization.
